e-Portfolio, an Auto-Adaptable Grid Service with Components using Peer-to-Peer Agents

چکیده
The new trends for long-life training and social activities emphasize on qualification of competence. Our objective is to improve Vocational and Educational Training and specially the process of informal learning by mixing these requirements and new technologies like Grid Computing. The European Learning Grid Infrastructure -ELeGIproject proposes to provide an architecture and some services to promote formal and informal learning on the Grid. In this context, the e-Qualification process is our solution to feature informal acquisitions during training sessions on the Grid. To each individual is associated an e-Portfolio service where are reported his activities, knowledge, competencies and objectives. In this paper, we insist on the dynamic character of the training and we propose some ways for the adaptation and composition of dynamic grid services between users. Our approach is situated at the convergence of components and agents paradigms, components producing adaptable grid services and agents dynamically composing them. Our flexible approach is not limited to the area of learning. It is also applicable to others similar grid applications.

An Approach to Data-driven Adaptable Service Processes
Within the currently forming pervasive computing environment, services and information sources thrive. Instantiations of the service oriented computing paradigm, e.g. Web, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Grid services, are continuously emerging, whilst information can be collected from several information sources, e.g. materializations of the Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 trends, Social Networking apps and Sensor...
متن کاملSelf-Adaptable Discovery and Composition of Services Based on the Semantic CompAA Approach
With the next generation of distributed systems, applications become nomad, ubiquitous or ambient. It becomes challenging to dynamically maintain or update functionalities, or to preserve non-functional properties, like the extensibility of the system and the quality of service. This paper describes the CompAA component model. The main contribution introduces the variability concept with the sp...
متن کاملE-Portfolio to Promote the Virtual Learning Group Communities on the Grid
In Vocational and Educational Training (VET), new trends are toward social learning and, more precisely, toward informal learning. In such settings, this article introduces a process — the e-Qualification — to manage informal learning on the ELeGI “Learning Grid Infrastructure.” It argues that this process must occur in a social context, such as virtual communities. On the one hand, it describe...
متن کاملDecentralised Control of Complex Systems
Many modern computing systems have to operate in environments that are highly interconnected, highly unpredictable, are in a constant state of flux, in which there is no centralized point of control, and in which the constituent components are owned by a variety of stakeholders that each have their own aims and objectives. Relevant exemplars include the Web, Grid Computing, Peer-to-Peer systems...
متن کاملThe ArguGRID Platform: An Overview
The ArguGRID project aims at supporting service selection and composition in distributed environments, including the Grid and Service-oriented architectures, by means of argumentative agents, an agent environment, a service-composition environment, Peer-to-Peer technology and Grid middleware. Agents are argumentative in that they use argumentation-based decision-making and argumentation-support...
